PROPOSAL

2021

The Kuha project is conceived as a space that fuses architecture and nature, so that the environment becomes a central element that encourages coexistence among its inhabitants. With a community fire pit as a social hub, Kuha seeks to create a meeting point that encourages connections between residents and generates a relaxed atmosphere in harmony with the natural environment.

Located in Playa del Carmen, Kuha is a residential complex of six apartments that embodies an architectural vision inspired by respect for the natural environment. Influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright's organic architecture, Kuha's design employs a triangular floor plan that maximizes integration with the landscape, optimizes views, and achieves a play of volumes that adapts to the terrain. Each 120 m² apartment includes a private pool, allowing residents to enjoy an outdoor living experience in an environment of privacy and contact with nature.

The triangular floor plan, inspired by Wright's organic architectural principles, establishes a scheme that adapts to the surroundings and allows for a fluid distribution of spaces. This facilitates the entry of natural light and air circulation, as well as offering views overlooking the vegetation and tropical surroundings. By combining common and private areas in interaction with the landscape, the triangular design provides a distinctive and functional character, allowing for a natural transition between the interior and exterior.

  1. Connection with the Environment: The layout of the spaces and the inclusion of private pools in each apartment promote a lifestyle in harmony with nature, where vegetation and water elements are integrated into the visual and environmental landscape of the complex.

  2. Community Space: At the center of the complex, a community fire pit offers a meeting point where residents can gather at the end of the day, promoting a sense of community and conviviality. This open-air space becomes the heart of Kuha, inviting interaction between residents and the cultural exchange that characterizes Playa del Carmen.

  3. Sustainable Design: Kuha's architecture is designed to respond to the climate and nature of the place, using low-impact environmental materials and finishes in warm tones that dialogue with the local vegetation. The triangular design and orientation of the apartments contribute to reducing energy consumption by taking advantage of cross ventilation and natural lighting, reducing the need for air conditioning systems and artificial light during the day.

:
Kuha is a residential space that harmoniously integrates architecture with the natural environment, offering its inhabitants a lifestyle oriented towards well-being and coexistence. Inspired by the principles of Frank Lloyd Wright's organic architecture, Kuha is distinguished by its triangular design and the fluid relationship between interior spaces and the landscape, achieving a model of community and sustainability in Playa del Carmen.
